Local Development Cluster

Run the Beta9 development environment from source

You can run a local Beta9 development cluster with k3d.

Prerequisites

Install Docker, Git, Make, and Go. Review bin/setup.sh, which installs the remaining development tools:

git clone https://github.com/beam-cloud/beta9.git
cd beta9
make setup

make setup creates the cluster, builds the images, and applies the development configuration.

Inspect the Cluster

kubectl --context k3d-beta9 get pods -n beta9
kubectl --context k3d-beta9 get services -n beta9

Use make start for a gateway development session through Okteto. Install the SDK with make setup-sdk, then configure the beta9 CLI with your local gateway’s host, port, and token.
